Coaches:
USATF is offering one last NEW Certified Officials class on Sunday, Nov 18, at Texas State University in San Marcos. It's a fact that our local track officials demographic is aging and we seriously need a youth movement!
If you know of anyone...coaches, athletes, interested friends, etc. who might be interested in getting certified as a USATF Official, please forward the attached link below which has the flyer with all the information. It would be good if they RSVP to one of the emails at the bottom of the page so we can get an idea of how many are attending.

Also, please check http://trackforlife.com/schedule.htm
for two meets in December if you want to get the word to your athletes. I know it's not track season, but you might have some who would be interested. All the details might not be posted yet, but should be up shortly.
Lastly, several coaches have asked me about providing Finish Lynx FAT timing for their club meets next year. My calendar is filling up pretty fast, so if interested please review the info at the link below. Service fees are always negotiable if you can provide assitance for me so I don't have to bring an extra person.

The Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) is proud to be a member of the National Federation of High School Associations (NFHS). TAPPS was the first private school organization to gain acceptance as an affiliate member. For 33 years, TAPPS has operated in accordance with the best practices demonstrated by the voting membership of NFHS. One of the guiding principles has been a desire to protect the in-class academic time that a student athlete needs in order to be successful in the classroom. In addition, consideration has always been given to weekend competitions so that the parents and fans can attend events without taking time away from work and other obligations.
As the TAPPS membership has grown, so has the uniqueness of TAPPS member schools. In order to provide the opportunity for all of our member schools to participate in team sports, the TAPPS Executive Board believes that accommodations are necessary to protect the Sabbath and religious days of observance of our schools. The Executive Board has approved new (policy) governance for such accommodations in Section 3 of the TAPPS by-laws to best provide for member schools as they prepare and compete in team activities. The accommodation for religious observance shall be the standard as TAPPS prepares for state competitions that are accessible to all member schools and the students that they serve through team activities. This governance is effective for the 2012-2013 school year. |

**Academic All State**
The Athletic Executive Committee has reviewed the situation where a number of students who met the criteria and are eligible for Academic All State honors have been denied recognition because the coach or athletic director failed to submit the student's nomination before the deadline.
In an effort to insure that these students receive the honors they deserve, the AEC has approved the following procedure:
If you have any students that were left off the Academic All State list for any sport during the 2010-2011 school year, you may submit their names to the TAPPS office. Their names will be added to the appropriate Academic All State team and a certificate will be sent to them. TAPPS will NOT provide patches for students whose names are submitted after the deadline. The order for patches, at TAPPS expense, is submitted by TAPPS within 24 hours after the deadline. Since the supplier of the patches charges a minimum of $50.00 for supplemental orders, TAPPS cannot provide patches for students who were not included in the initial order.
For the remainder of the 2010-2011 school year, Athletic Directors who submit nominations after the deadline will receive a PRIVATE REPRIMAND.
Beginning in 2011-2012, Athletic Directors who submit nominations after the deadline will receive a PUBLIC REPRIMAND. A second missed deadline during the same school year will result in a PUBLIC REPRIMAND and a $50.00 fine.
